I am having issues transferring pics wirelessly using an HP C309a printers memory card reader to an iMac?

I am using a Compact Flash memory card from my camera and plugging it into the memory card slot on the HP C309a printer. It says it cannot connect to the printer. I am able to print from the computer to the printer but not able to download pictures from the memory card reader back to the computer. Any idea why? Maybe it has to be connected via a printer cable and if so that is okay but I was hoping this could be done wirelessly. Help!

1. You'd probably need to run some HP software to make it work, assuming it can. If you haven't already, download the massive driver package from HP's site and install it. That should come with about fifty different little utilities. One of them should be able to do it. Or just plug your camera into the computer with a USB cable.
