What is a power power supply that fits in an hp slimline?

I need a 400W power supply, the only problem is the normal power supplies are too big to fit in my HP Slimline.

  1. There aren't any. HP's slimline psu design is proprietary and they don't make any models with that high wattage. There are replacement power supplies for HP slimlines on Ebay and other sources but none are 400W. http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/270-watt-HP-slimline-power-supply-FSP270-60LE-SL.php Transplanting everything to a regular case won't work either, because HP in their infinite wisdom used a small ATX connector on their slimline motherboards which doesn't match regular ATX power supplies. There is a external psu called the FSP booster X5- that's probably your best bet. You could sit it externally and run cables into the case, using it to power your video card (assuming you have a low-profile 9600GT or 9800GT). It's not grounded (it was designed to sit inside of a regular tower case) so you'll need to address that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104054 http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10923&Itemid=1
