Printer issues: black on the sides of the pages?

Okay, so i have a lexmark printer, and it is showing up with black on the sides of the page. I have a feeling it has something to do with the Photoconductor Kit, there seems to be ink inside it. However, I am not sure if that is because it needs to be there or because it has leaked into it. I need to know if it is safe to remove the ink, or at least how to fix the issue. It is a Lexmark E250dn Laser printer

1. If it is a laser printer, it does not use ink. Your printer contains a toner cartridge that uses a solid toner instead of ink. This is safe to take out.
