CAN YOU USE BLACK HP TONER IN A BROTHER PRINTER?
Okay, my neighbor gave me a bunch of old HP printer cartridges. They are for a now obsolete printer. I was going to disassemble them and recycle the toner for use in my Brother black and white printer. Both cartridges(my brother and the hp's) are laser printers and the toner looks the same. Has anyone done this before and will I f*** up my Brother printer by doing this? Thanks

- I would be careful especially if the toner is old as it could effect your printer. I would not risk it to be honest.
- Hello, Do not proceed, read this first. You need to understand the first off, toner technology works by using positive and negative charges or magnetization so to speak. These charges do fade after time and can damage your printer if left floating around inside. Second of all, every component of a toner has to exact, from the electrostatic charge down to the molecule size. If you attempt this, you may do some serious damage to your printer. If you want to save some money, buy a remanufactured toner cartridge. These cartridges when done by professionals will have reverse engineered all the components for you. Please see the website below, there is a lot of info you need to read about.
