- yes i have one
- Personally, laptops are like toothpastes - they are all about equal to each other and most people just buy one or the other based on price or brand loyality. Dell, HP, IBM all make decent laptops. It really just comes down to your preference and the options that each will offer in the laptop in your price range.
- hell no, try acer or sony or even toshiba. they made the parts too fast, overheat, and they put factory bases trojan droppers on the menu. go with another
- i will say its the best. i am having one. 1) after sales service is great u wont find that good in dell. i know u r thinking for that. 2) parts are not too costly comparison to sony, dell, toshiba. 3) sevice stations are available all over. 4) performance and price are great deal. 5)experience :- my 2 friends had some prob one was using HP another was having SONY VIO. HP changed his RAM in just 2100 rs. and sony service sentre took 2000 just for adjusting RAM and opening. dont ask abt new RAM cost in sony.
- I personally really like them, I have one too ! They are good and practical...
- I have one, it's a fine laptop, but the best thing about HP is it's service and support. I had a problem caused by my ISP, and had to bring it in, they tried to fix it on the spot, but told me I had to leave it. They worked on it right away and I had it back later that afternoon, and this was halfway around the world in Thailand, I purchased it in the US.. I've called tech support and e-mailed with other questions and they were very prompt and precise in their answers. I would definitely buy HP again.
- IIt all depends on the model . Laptops used to be premium business machines that had to be reliable out in the field so to speak. Laptops were rugged and were double to triple the price of pcs ( that were not as inexpensive as todays) Imagine paying 3,000 to $ 4500 for a laptop and dropped an inch $ 500,000 oif data was gone. These were real computers. However laptops have come down in price. True - the highest end components do not have to be used as before . However the entry level laptops are meant for idiot women to buy them . ( Their answer if asked why did they buy a laptop if the laptop is immeadiatly placed on a desk , never to leave, plugged in 24/7 a. . Space is not an issue. The answer is " because they are soooooooooo cute". Lower end laptops are garbage. The lower end hps are garbage and are throw away computers. Look on ebay. You will find lots of HP laptops that somehow are not working. These people find that it is very expensive to have a laptop repaired after warranty and just plain not worth it to repair the laptop. If you go on the hp website and look at the parts http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Country_Choice.asp http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/default.asp?cc=US&lang=EN you will notice that many partsw for your hp laptop are n/a not available.. The cost of repair to a laptop is not small. Laptops are small and precise. Each laptop is somewhat different and a work of art. Hence to work on a laptop can be $ 250 - 500 for openers just to open it up , inspect the laptop and carefully put it back together with all the screws. Some parts may be easier to get at in some models - say the ram or a hard drive but generally to do any work on a laptop is not cheap by any means. I had one idiot in a big box store argue with me. He had had a Thinkpad ( a real IBM high quality laptop for 3 years ) and he only paid $ 100 for a repair. Turned out it was a simple swap of a battery. Threre is nothing wrong with HP laptops.. Just spend a few dollars more and get a mid range laptop. If you look at dell for example dell has cheaper and more expensive laptops. If you are purchasing a laptop from a big box store it can make sense to purchase the extended warranty. Not that the big box store will actually work on your laptop. They most likely will send it to HP. Don't expect as well that the big box store will immeadiatly give you another or a loaner. They may even hold the computer for a good time period ( for evaluation) before sending it along - you will come back to the store repeatedly. Buy other things and perhaps even another laptop that you need while waiting for repairs. Ask questions. Lastly - it is not a matter of brand as more as to models - Toshiba made among the best laptops . Large though. Now they have a low end entry level laptop to compete in that market. That product now has class action lawsuits against it - IBM had the noted Thinkpad line IB computer hardware was sold to a Chinese company ( not that any of the computers were made in the USA) The Chinese company now called Lenovo bought the IBM line for the advanced thinkpad technology mainly http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/ The newer Thinkpads are not the same as the older higher quallity IBM Thinkpads. Customers got mad at the lower quality thinkpad. Lenovo now calls the Thinkpad a "Lenovo Thinkpad" not a IBM thinkpad. http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/ http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/catalog.workflow:CompareByNeed?current-category-id=653343E0DE54435882FABC3CE1BC569A The HP mid range laptops are fine. If you talk to enough people about any product you will find good and bad experiences. HP does not have the highest end of laptops. They do have good automated support for their product. If you have to talk to someone at HP tech support they are adequete but not the best. You often ( after a reasonable number of tries have to demand a supervisor to get action) Do not expert any level of support at a big box store no matter what the salesman tells you.
- yes hp has it own standard. But Lenovo, Dell, toshiba are also good notebooks in terms of feature and build in quaity
