- I have a Kodak digital i paid $149 it takes great photo's its compact and easy to use. I would buy another Kodak if i need another camera
- I have a Kodak easy share c533 camera and printer dock. It came as a bundle pack, was less than $200 for the entire package, takes great pics and is easy to use!! I am not a gadgetty or gizmo kind of person, this works well for me!! Good luck!! : )
- I love the 7m.p casio ex-z70. It cost $199. The screen is 2.5" and it is easy to use. The slim design fits in your pocket and the battery lasts for a long time without having to recharge it. The photos are great both indoors and outdoors! Also, check online at www.dpreview.com for other good cameras in that price range.
- I purchased a Samsung S850 for $160. Loaded with features for a point and shoot type camera and takes excellent photos. Circuit Citys website can arrange cameras by price for you and offers user reviews of each product so it is a good starting point in searching for a good digital camera.
- If you want a really good digital camera for less than $200, then I highly suggest looking into a Canon PowerShot A80. This is a very exceptional camera that I have used. If anything, any Canon PowerShot camera is very very highly recommended. You can find these cameras on EBay or on Amazon Used & like new for about $200. I absolutely love the Canon PowerShot A80. This camera takes very good pics. I have just recently tried one of the new olympus cameras & it does not even compare to the Canon. Those itty bitty cameras are a strain on my hands & seem to take too long to find the right settings for the type of picture that I am taking. With the Canon Power Shot A80, it is so much better to handle (in my opinion) & its menu/settings are much easier to set and understand. Also, it has a rotating lcd screen so that you can take pictures from many angles (high & low) as I LOVE to do; you can get some really good shots that way. The camera uses 4AA batteries, however you must use AA batteries suitable for digital cameras. I usually use the eLithium 7 batteries that you can purchase pretty much anywhere & they last a looong time. You can also buy rechargable ones like the energizer rechargable 2500 mah. These last a long time as well. You can buy extra accessories/lenses (such as wide angle & zoom) for it at reasonable prices on EBay as well. Look into it. Any camera worth spending $200 on would have to be one that has a higher value & is being sold as a used/ like new. Amazon & EBay are two sites that I have never had any problems finding what I am looking for & I have never had any bad experiences with (I have purchased a lot from these sites). Good Luck!
- The best camera for under $200 is the Canon A550 * 7.1 Megapixel *4X Optical Zoom * Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light) * Well built for the price * Very good performance * LCD visible in low light * Some manual controls * AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing * Good movie and continuous shooting modes * Impressive software bundle * Uses AA batteries; great battery life * USB 2.0 High Speed support
- Steve's reviews updates the "Best Camera" list periodically: http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html and the list is broken down by pixel count. Just start looking in the "entry level" and 5 MP range and you'll find some good cameras for under $200. Some of our best answerers always recommends the Fujifilm FinePix F20 camera as the best-for-less choice. I have to say that I like the sample images at Steve's site (below). If Morey000 or SpaceCowboy show up after me and make this recommendation, choose them as the best answer, because I'm just passing along their suggestion. I have no personal experience with this camera. http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/fuji_f20.html http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Fujifilm/fuji_finepixf20.asp My brother has the A540 and my mother-in-law has the A530 - on my recommendation - and neither one has stopped speaking to me yet. Based on this and experience with other Canon Powershot cameras, I am now recommending the A550 as a nice and relatively inexpensive camera. The A550 has more pixels than the A540, but offers less user control. The A540 has been discontinued, but I've seen it for $140 in some stores like WalMart and Target. The A550 costs $160 at B&H and, of course, you'll need a memory card. Canon A550 review: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/a550.html The A560 is only about ten buck more and that makes it worth considering, too. It has a slightly bigger LCD and they claim that it's one stop faster than the A550 in speed. Canon A560 review: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/a560.html
- Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons: 1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time; 2. Has a 3x optical zoom; 3. Takes "continuous" 2 frames per second "action/sports" images; 4. Has macro feature for close-ups of small objects focused under 6 inches; 5. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu; 6. It's very small and light; 7. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards - a 2 gig card sells for $19 at samys.com; 8. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone; 9. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port; 10. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera; 11. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.] Review(s) can be found at www.amazon.com [Query: "Nikon Coolpix L10" along with pictures provided by satisfied purchasers.] Good luck!
- I feel that one of the best under $200 is the Canon PowerShot A630. According to Website dpreview.com Beach Camera has it for $185- 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels, very good on battery life which takes AA rechargeables. Will give you an excellent 8X10 print and has manual controls aside from auto.
- Any Cannon SD model under the 600 however for $50 more than you budget I have found the all around best camera for the Money is the Cannon SD600 or higher! it is only about 1/2 inch thick and is perfectly rectangular with no weird shapes (so it will fit in your pocket or wherever without allot of bulkiness’) which makes it easy to take around places. The zoom is pretty darn good! And it takes excellent Macro shots (close up magnified) it also has action so you can take pictures of someone running without waiting for the shutter and the digital camera to reset for the next picture. In addition it has real good video & has good battery life & upgradeable SD memory slot. yeah there are other cameras but I travel allot for work and it is great to just slip this baby in my front pocket take with me sightseeing or to work and I hardly know I have it on me which also works great cause what people don’t see they wont try to steal in public like those cameras you always have to hang from your wrist or shoulder like a purse! Check the camera out on the web or at Best Buy or Circuit City or something yourself. The SD model is the best and the 600 is 6.0 Mega pixels 3x zoom with 10X digital zoom. If you go with a model larger than 600 the camera remains the same but the pixel rating goes up! Now about the price I paid $260 for the camera 6 months ago at circuit city I bought a 2 year no questions asked warranty replacement for around $50 more. So the way I see it in the next 2 years I accidentally drop the camera I go back to Circuit city and they give me a gift card for $250 & I upgrade to the new model and pay the difference.....what a deal! That almost sells the camera itself! Well Good luck & let me know what you decide on! Hope that helped?
