What are the best digital cameras under $1,000?

I am an advanced amateur photographer looking to start my own photography business. I don't have a lot to invest and don't care too much about different lenses. I do want the ability to manually focus though. Any suggestions?

1. You probably want to buy a DSLR camera, not a P&S. Under 1000$, there are some good DSLRS, here are the ones I recommend. I really don't know what you want to start photographing; portraits, studio, events, animals..That is important too. - Canon EOS XSi - Canon EOS 5D - Canon EOS 50D - Nikon D90 I'd go for the 5D, because of it's great image quality. It has 12MP which is enough, but it doesn't have Live View. All other DSLRs I mentioned have it, but it is the only Full Frame camera. Your only wish is to focus manually..Do you understand how the camera works? Shutter speed, aperture, iso etc. You will not be successful without knowing these things. Plus, you can manually focus on most of the lenses today.
