  1. JPEG is the most common picture file any printer will print it. if u want a slight higher resolution picture a BITMAP image is better but jpeg is fine. just go ahead and click print
  2. JPEG is pretty much the de facto standard when it comes to digital pictures coming from digital cameras but there are others in use as well such as TIFF. If your pictures are in JPEG or JPG format, then you should be fine, no conversion needed. As for printing pictures in school (or any) printers, unless you are putting your memory media (like SD card or USB flash drive) directly into the printer, the computer's software application is usually what prints it. Most computer (doesn't matter what type, either Mac or PC) comes standard with picture viewer program that will also allow you to print. Simply access it by double clicking on your picture and select Print from the menu; decide the size and format and you should have your picture(s) printed in no time. Another suggestion is to bring your saved pictures to your local drug store chain (like CVS or Walgreens) and have them print them for you like the old glossy 4x6's for as low as 19 cents. Good luck and I hope this helps.
