Is this computer a good deal? Is the processor fast?

Just bought an HP laptop, and I'm wondering if I got a good deal on it. It seems like it's good, but I don't know a whole lot about computers. Also is this processor decent? I've heard multiple opinions on it, conflicting actually. The total price is $1040, and keep in mind that it includes Microsoft Office 2007 Student. 1. IMHO 1. A computer with the color "espresso black" listed as the FIRST tech spec??? Ohhhh...fail. 2. Get a Mac. FFS!! 3. Macs are a good deal.
  2. Man, you got ripped-off!
  3. Not really, it is a 3 year old processor 2 gig of memory, Wireless g is also outdated, N is the newest. Dell has 2times this computer for $899.
  4. I would say good deal since u bought office cuz that is EXPENSIVE since u can get open office for FREE but the computer itsself seems like a good deal least it hp and not crap ass dell
  5. the prossesor is bad for gaming the high def is good for movies if you want a good gaming laptop u need 2.0GHz the prossesor is ok for nongaming like internet and stuff
  6. Yes, it is a good laptop. Good processor, good memory, good graphics card, very nice HD screen, Blu-Ray player, all is great, except for the wireless G network adapter which should have been N, but that is a minor detail. I do not quite know why you specifically list that the price includes Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition, as it only costs around $100, so it does not make a big part of the price. Enjoy your purchase, I am sure you will.
  7. All of that for $1040 only? Damn where did you get that?? I want to buy one too.
  8. It's not bad, but the processor isn't that fast. I'm not sure what the exchange rate is at the moment but the price you paid seems a bit high to me.
  9. Everyone telling you the processor is bad needs to stop looking at the clock speed and look at the rest of the information on the processor. i7 is Intel's new line of processors- they're all quad-core so you can't compare their clock speeds to most other processors. The i7-720QM is the 3rd best laptop processor on the market right now (behind the i7-820QM and the i7-920XM). It's normal speed is only 1.6GHz but if it needs to, it will kick the speed up to 2.8GHz. The only thing bad about the processor is the power consumption- it uses about 30% more power than most other laptop processors which means the laptop will get really hot and will only have mediocre battery life (though that won't be a problem with the gigantic battery you're sticking in there). The graphics card is good too- it's a new card though it's not top of the line. All in all, a very nice computer.
  10. Yes it is a very good laptop for both working and gaming. I would also recommend dv7...
