I have an Hp printer, I downloaded the software, it says "No Hp devices have been detected" Its plugged in too?

It's and hp compaq computer, and the printer is hp also. I click on the Hp solution center, and it said "No Hp devices have been detected" I checked the wires, they are all plugged in. I also put out the USB for 30 seconds and it still doesn't detect it. What happened?

1. Does it show up on your desktop (icon)? go to control panel and see if it shows up there. After you downloaded did it install? Make sure the power button is on, too.
2. I am having the same problem with mine except my pc is dell, but the brand of your pc does not matter, it is the OS that matters. Anyway what I wanted to post was, if you do not get an answer you like here then search f4440 on yahoo answers, I posted a question and perhaps if a good answer does not appear here you migt be able to get a good answer there
