Is there anyway you could convert a basic printer to run its power supply off a Car Cigarette Lighter Adapter?
I want to try and make a portable printer and, in my mind, converting the power supply to a "car cellphone charger" type of system would surely do the trick, would it not? Any info/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

- They make those already, it's called an inverter and plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket and convert it to AC, you need to make sure to get one that can handle the electrical load of your AC equipment. They also make permanent mounted ones with higher amperage (or Watts), that can run more than one thing at a time..
- ive done this with other stuff. 1. find a a cell phone charger for a cigerette lighter. 2. cut off the end that plugs into the cigerette charger and strip about an inch from the end (strip=cut off the rubber so the wires are exposed) 3. on your printer plug, do the same with the end that plugs into the wall. 4. twist the wires around each other so the actual wires are touching 5. wrap the exposed wires in electrical tape and plug in! this can be mildly dangerous. dont do it if your not comfortable with electricity. NOTICE: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU BEING A MORON ABOUT THIS. have fun!
