Can the Apple Store service a damaged HP printer.?

I got an HP 3-in-one back in 2006 which has just started giving me trouble. Since I got it at the Apple store, would anyone there be knowledgeable enough to effectively troubleshoot or would I have to do something through Hewlett Packard? Thanks!

1. Printers are throw away items now. If they break buy a new one. They cost more to fix then to buy a new one.
2. HP printers should be repaired in HP service centers.
