How long can I store my HP laptop unplugged and not loose memory?

- more info what kinda memory ?????
- Laptops have a separate battery from the main battery. It is like a watch battery. It is enough to save power to your main memory. It is underneath the keyboard.
- Well, if you mean programs that are currently running and all the documents inside them, then the answer is until the battery runs out. If you mean things saved onto your hard drive, in theory, they should stay there forever.
- Well, there is no specific answer, but once you turn off your laptop all the RAM is erased, becaused that requires a constant current to have memory stored in it. If you mean data on your hard drive, then that could go for years, unless ofcourse you are planning to travel in a highly electromagnetic area with it.
- it would be hard to answer that based on the age of your machine and etc. I would just strongly recommend that you back up ALL your data.
- if you are putting the system in "standby" mode... then it should be ok for a day or two. If you are putting it in "hibernate" or shutting the computer down completely.... then forever.... if all the information you want to save is on the hard drive, then the only thing that could erase it is a gigantic magnet that somehow gets dropped onto your computer... a fire... or crazy disasters like that don't worry... you don't have to leave your laptop, or any computer for that matter... plugged in when its not turned on.
- it could be store for as long as the hard drive doesn't is in good condition you could store it for 5 years and all you would have to do is recharge you battery and all your stuff will still be there
- you will never lose memory, memory is ram do you mean you saved data? that is also safe for as long as want its perfectly safe to leave it years, the data will still be there the lap top will be totally out of date but all your saved data will be OK. ~ Hitman
- As long as you want.
- Depends on where you store it. If you're going to store it in a magnet factory or an electrical testing facility---probably not very long. The Hibernation Option is there for a reason, and since bears hibernate you may store it in a cave for 6 months.
