Restoring factory settings on an HP Laptop?
Ok, I am not normally this clueless, but this is Windows Vista, and I have no idea how to go about this...I just got an HP laptop. The store I bought it from had no more of the one I wanted in stock, so I decided to take home the one on the floor. They changed the password for me and told me that I would have to reformat or system restore to factory settings. Three questions: How do I do this? Will I have to reinstall the operating system? Will I have to reinstall microsoft office programs like Word, Powerpoint, Excell?

- I will reinstall the OS if you have the cd or you should be able to do it by pressing f11 during the system boot up (when it says bios version, ESC for boot order, f2 setup)...........it should take you to a promp that ask you if you want to do a system recovery ( go back on time ) or a system restore which will reformat the disk like it out of the box) good luck for word, excel , PowerPoint you only get a 30 day trial like when is new you will have to buy that separately
