- I am very familiar with these units & let me tell you they are AWESOME. You will find endless enjoyment with its incredible processing power & mutimedia capabilities. My only possible suggestion is that you see is a model with the video capture card & remote control is available at a reasonable price. You will then be able to connect it directly to you TV for large screen viewing as well as be able to take advantage of all the features of a PVR like "Tivo". Defenitely have Media Center installed, but also be aware that many new HP units now come with vouchers for the Vista upgrade ... make sure you are not being sold a batch from last season . These are premium units & not cheap. Please make sure you get the free Vista Home (which has all the Media Center features) upgrade. (feel free to email me if you need more feedback) regards, Philip T
- The configuration is great, but HP's S U C K. I would choose Dell, but that's just me.
- yeah overall this looks like a good buy 2048mb of memory is like 2.5gb so thats good, you hardrive only has 100gb, try getting one with 120gb seeing as you have windows media center. other than that the laptop is great. hope this helps Richard
- Great system. I am a little confused with the HD choice though. Personally if it was me, I would go one of two routes. I would either go with the dual drives or because I would rather have 7200 rpm drives, go with the cheapest and upgrade to dual 7200 rpm goodness later. Also I would choose the higher video memory. This would be one of the harder things to upgrade later. Even so the one you chose is still pretty darn good. If you are gonna scrimp, cut the RAM and HD. Easy upgrades and cheaper aftermarket. Can't seem to find information on what you will need to had a second HD later though. Maybe just a drive tray.
