What type of large format printer to buy? Designjet 130 or something else? looking for nice poster prints?
Basically I draw alot of art with Corel, I would love to have my own poster printer and i have been eye balling the hp designjet 130 for quite some time. Anyone own one that can post some screenshots of posters they have print out as an example? Can't seem to find anyone who has took pictures of posters that have been printed from this printer. Also would like to ask is there any other company that sells reasonable priced large format printers, i was specifically looking for 20x30 prints... hp seems to be the only affordable way to go with the 24" prints.. I currently do bussiness through adoroma for posters, but i rather prefer the privacy of in home prints.. Thanks DO NOT NEED INFO REGARDING BUYING POSTERS FROM SITES... NEED PRINTER FOR PRIVATE PURPOSES AND INK COST NOT A PROBLEM

- Buying a printer that prints poster size prints would cripple you in ink costs. There are a few places online that will print your pictures as big as you like. EDIT : OK, HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR.
- HP is the way to go. I can recommend it since I do own a few printers and in prepress business using high-end offset printing. I do posters and proof using HP mostly. For one thing, they are reliable, cheaper to run than Ricoh and other top names. The HP 130 is a nice 6-color poster printer. I use that one and the HP Designjet Z2100 44" Photo Printer recently purchased for 44" wide printing. If HP wasn't reliable, I wouldn't have purchased another one. The HP130 prints very very nice. You won't be disappointed although I suggest getting the HP 130R. At least, you will be able to print up to 50" and secondly, cheaper in the long run because you are using the rollfeed. Its slightly more expensive but you won't regret it in the long run. What I like about the the rollfeed is that you can output different size poster on the same job or print 5 of each or whatever. HP 130r will take care of that while you attend to something else. Email me for samples. Here is a link to a nice HP 130 refurbished but still under HP warranty and for half the price :) http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_detail.do?hpweb_printable=true&product_code=C7791CR%23A2L Good Luck
