why doesn't my hp digital camera charge when plugged up?

It won't charge when plugged up to adapter?can I charge it by plugging it to my computer or is it just that the battery may not be any good now?

1. Could be the battery is toast. These things dong last for ever and will take only a certain number of charge cycles. A replacement is probably in order.
