HP Store Online

What do you think of this for a college kid?

The final price will actually be less with a 100.00 instant savings and 50.00 rebate. Shipping is free so I will pay around 45.00 in tax. I know circuit city has good Hp for around 700.00 but I will still need to get her an antivirus and MS word. Only concern I have is the Intel Celron M HP Pavilion dv6000t customizable Notebook PC EZ829AV – $30 OFF! 1. yes thats a good one considering you only need 1.2 GHZ and thats the one i have got lol its good...
  2. Looks good. You don't need to buy an antivirus program (Download AVG online and CCleaner...both nice programs) Also Word would be a good idea. Most computers come with any other programs they may need as well...so limit software and buy it as needed. As for the celeron- they aren't using it for other then school and personal so it would be fine I would gather.
  3. dude, DONT EVE THINK ABOUT IT, for that money y can buy better laptop with a real good processor core duo, core 2 duo, go to dell.com and check there for that price u can get a laptop 3 times better, ok www.dell.com/parade and change to laptop ok note: (dont buy anything with a celeron chip)
  4. what was the question?
  5. well i live in UK, so i realy don't know if it's worth it or it's bad or good enugh for a student in colage. i'm in collage and i'm buying a MacBook Pro. 2.33 GHz Processore 2048 Memory 160 Hard drive. 256 Graphic card. it's going to sot me somthing between £1700 to £2000. i do need a computer this power ful because i'm doing game designing so i need a fast computer whith a high graphic card. and also the resone i'm buying this laptop is because i'll be paying monthly. now you need to look at what the laptop is going to be used for. then you can deside what you need to buy. hope i helped
  6. It sounds good, the only thing that I would change would be to replace the Microsoft Works suite (which stings) with the Microsoft office 2003 for student/teachers. The rest sounds very good for a student. Good luck
  7. What I would be concerned about is the weight of the laptop. The first laptop I bought was a monster! It was a real pain to carry it and all my books around campus. I rarely brought it with me to school because it was so heavy! Now I have a Sony Vaio that weighs about 3 pounds. Much better!!
  8. well, good thing that it's an HP and NOT A DELL!!! for the price, eh, not so much because of two things: the processing speed and the Celeron M processor...you can buy a Mac mini for 600 and get better specs due to their standard RAM and standard intel core 2 duo processor =)....and the other problem, its windows...im just kidding but it seems alright though if that's waht you need, if all that suits your needs, then you should go for it =)
  9. That looks like a fairly good deal. Decent memory and HD capacity. Is there a good warranty on it as well? usually there is a standard 1 year. Is it extra? HP also have a 10% off coupon at http://www.24houredeals.com/hpshopping-coupons-359-mer.html Did you try that and see if it will drop the price some as well.
