Can I get the charger for HP DV6 series laptops from India? If so, where?

I have an HP DV6000 series laptop. I will be going on India on vacation in 2 days. Since the voltage is higher I know for a fact that I cannot use the USA charger there. Can I buy a charger from there itself and use it to charge my laptop? Will there be any complications? Is there a possible way that it could ruin my laptop? I am going to a city called Chennai (madras). Can you tell me the names of store that I can get the charger from? Thank you in advance! Just incase, I think the voltage back there is 220.

1. Your best bet is to goto radio shack and buy a voltage regulator to interupt the connection between your usa adapter and the wall. it will step down and pre condition the voltage for you. Unless it is an astronomical value higher the adapter will condition to the proper specs.
2. Your Laptop's AC Adaptor should be capable of handing 220 Volt. (Check HP Site or manual). All you would need is a plug adaptor than can fit into the socket which you can get from a Radio Shack/Best Buy/Walmart or in Chennai. There are many electronics and computer stores in Chennai.
