My new hp laptop seems to have taken over my home wireless connection. How do I stop this ?

This happened before with a previous hp laptop I had, it pretty much took over the network so that when anyone else would try and connect to the network the phase phrase or key would not work. Any ideas on how to get this back to normal ?

1. The only ways I know that what you describe might happen would be if 1) a user on one of the computers connected, logs onto the control page and changes the key (including neighbors, if you started out with no encryption), or 2) you ran an install or setup program on the laptop and were not careful about the screens that could result in that program changing the key. You would get it back to normal by going into the setup page of your wireless router and changing the key.
