Is HP laptops a good brand of computers?

I'm getting a new laptop soon and i was wondering is HP a good computer. I was thinking do it last for years and have good battery life. I really want a macbook but it is to expensive. So i was deciding if HP laptops are good computers.

1. yes, i have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, and i like it alot. it is a dual core 1.6GHz .2GB memory, 448MB shared video memory, 15.4" screen.
2. I have been using one for two years and I've had no majors problems with it. I think HP makes great computers.
