i downloaded hp designjet 500 driver but cant figure how to install it?

What operating system are you using? Normally, if you just double click the file driver install file, run the install, then plug in the printer, it should take care of it automatically. If it is not an installation executing file, you can plug in the printer and windows should ask you if you want to install the driver automatically or manually. Choose to install manually (yourself) and direct the install wizard to the location of the driver you downloaded. If it doesn't ask you to install the driver when you plug it in, you can goto your "System"=> "Device Manager" and find the printer there... probably under "unknown devices" or something "HP" in the name. Right click it and choose to update driver manually. Many times, choosing it to install it automatically by having windows search online for the driver works fine too.
