How is the HP Pavilion tx1000z?

My wife needs a laptop for Grad school...so it is just for her for school stuff, no games, music, pics or movies.   1. I still think the price is on the high side, though it will do the job for her. Look at the Gateway C140 convertible notebook, it goes both ways as a notebook and as a tablet. The basic specs are on par with what you have above with a price that opens up at less than a grand. Another thought is the new Dell XPS 1330. I have seen this one in action and give it very good marks. Its very light, thin, powerful, and looks very sexy. Spec'ing it out with 2GB should keep you under the $1400 range.
