Need Expert Advice on Fixing HP Laptop Computer Startup Problem?

My HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop recently stopped working. When I press the power button, it begins to start up as normal but after about a second it shuts right off. The blue lights on the keyboard all light up and the light where the power cord plugs in stays lit. Have tried using a different adapter and battery but had the same problem. Is this due to a loose connection inside? And if it is, where is this connection? I've searched the internet for solutions to this problem but it must not be very common.

  1. Hi There, You could be correct about having a loose wire. Could also be that the memory stick has become loose and is not firmly seated in ti's socket. You can easily check this. Could also be that the hard drive is not firmly seated alos. You can check this too. Another problem might be excess heat build up inside. Do you hear the fan running when it boots? Is the laptop on a smooth surface with all the vents free of obstructions? You could also try removing the battery and starting up just with the power cord. It should work that way (that would eliminate a bad battery). If none of the above helps I recommend taking it to a computer shop or contacting HP for repair. there's not much you can do inside the case. Hope this helps, Al
  2. I GUARANTEE MY PROCESS WILL WORK. It happened to me too. It is for either certain software or virus. You have to recover to the factory setting. Step1: Turn on your laptop. Step2: Keep on tapping F8 until an option for SAFE MODE appears. Step3: Enter SAFE MODE. (It will take time to load. Be patient.) Step4: Click the Start Menu and search for recovery manager. (It will take time to open) Step5: Click ADVANCED. Step6: There is an option for factory setting. Try to find it and proceed. Note: Do not turn off the Laptop during the process.
