Epson Printer: How to keep printing when one ink color runs out?
I have an Epson 1400 and I'm wondering if it's possible to continue printing when one of the ink colors run out. IE- is there a way i can keep printing even though it will look messed up without the missing color? it's better than not being able to print at all at this point. I need to print somethings for tomorrow.

- I had an Epson at one time and I think it is one of the brands that is set up so that you have to replace a cartridge that is out or it will not print, even if you are printing in gray scale and a color goes out. That's one of the reasons I junked it. Can you send the file to someone who can print it out on their printer? If you're really desperate you can send the file to Kinko's or the like and have them print it for a small fee. It's best to call them first and make sure they can open the file.
- you cant. You need ink in all the cartridges and for very good reason. the longer you wait to replace the cartridge, the greater the chance that you will damage your printer. read this for details http://www.ccs-digital.com/inkjetcare.asp
- No, you need to replace the cartridge.
- You can't. All the printer manufacturers are doing it, in addition to chipping the cartridges. My solution was to get a CISS for my Epson. It paid for itself in a month, I never change cartridges and always have ink on hand. Look at them here: http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/
