What wattage power supply comes standard in most HP non-custom computers?

Found a boxed deal, but I want to be able to switch out the graphics card. The computer has to have at least a 300w supply because that's what the card needs, but is that standard for HP computers? I think it is, but I just want to be sure.

  1. Hello. Most Computer Manufacturers (Dell, HP, Gateway) have a Range of 350-550 Watts Power Supplies in their Standard Computers (Entertainment/Business Desktops-- Not Gaming Desktops) If you can open up your Computer and remove the slide Case and look at the Box with a bunch of cables extending from it (either at the Top Left or the Bottom Left of the Computer), it should have a Diagram like this: http://www.bytesizedreviews.com/kuzals/maxtoppsu/psu2.jpg As you can see from that Diagram the Max Wattage Supported is 450 Watts. Or If you can provide your HP Desktop Model Number, I can find out your Power Supply and Max Load Wattage Supported. Hope that Helps.
  2. just switch the card it sould work
