Are the USB cables for the Kodak Easyshare digital cameras compatible with every model?
My Kodak Easyshare M853 digital camera was stolen this weekend. I am looking at a Kodak Easyshare M893 on eBay as a replacement, but it doesn't come with the USB cable. Will my USB cable from my M853 be compatible with a M893?

- If you're at all familiar with computers you know that USB is an industry standard at the computer end. That's not always true with cameras. My suggestion would be, if you can find this camera you want to buy at a local shop, take your cable along and look... or at least make not of the camera end prior to visiting the camera shop. Most are the same but at times... they do change. I think they're trying to protect their own product.
- Yes, it is compatible. There are only two types of USB cable Kodak has. One is Model U-8: this is for newer camera models and the other one is Model U-4 which is for very old Kodak camera models. You can visit the link below for the U-8, both M853 and M893 are listed there. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-locale=en_US&pq-path=6558
