I am printing on a Xerox 6180 Phaser printer. The image seems to be tinged with the color magenta. Pl. help!?

- There can be any of a number of possible causes for that. Unfortunately these kind of problems are difficult to troubleshoot without actually being on-site with the equipment. The most probable cause I suspect would be that one of the other toner cartridges is not working correctly and not applying its color along with the magenta thereby leaving the tinge that you see. Either the cyan or yellow cartridge is not laying down its color to produce the correct color in the prints and leaving the magenta as the predominant color seen. There is a Service Mode menu that techs use to run a variety of tests to determine where the fault lies, but this menu also gives access to a plethora of other things that if messed with could cause more problems. You could try creating your own test pages in Word or something where you set a fairly large area, or whole page, in the three colors, magenta, cyan & yellow and print them out and see which one is lacking. That would be the one you need to replace. If you'd like to access the printer Service Mode you'll need to email me with the request and I can provide details. Best of luck.
