What digital cameras should I stay away from?

What brands of digital cameras would you suggest to NOT buy? If you could also tell me why NOT to get the brand that would be greatly appreciated. -If you have a camera you really like please tell me the name of it. Thanks

1. Go here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/stats.asp and look at the second chart - the one that shows interest by brand name. The best brands are indeed the ones in the top part of the chart. And vice versa. Here's a listing in order by ratings. Even if you don't buy from them, check with B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping). If B&H does not sell the brand you are looking at, don't bother buying that brand. I really like Canon point and shoot cameras and the SD850-IS, due out this week, really interests me. I won't buy it, because I really like my Canon SD900, which is really new, but the SD850-IS looks really good on paper.
