would black toner powder work in any toner cartridge ?
Why wouldn't black toner work in any toner cartridge, I know the melting point depends from manufacturer to manufacturer but it should still work, or may-be a little lighter or darker. If I buy Samsung black toner powder, what could it do bad in an old Brother printer ?

- The drums of different manufacturers have different levels of charge designed to work with their specific toners. Using the wrong toner will probably kill your machine.
- Toners for printers are manufactured with certain properties to have specific characteristics for the printer that they are to be used in. Like you mentioned they will have varying melting points at which they work which can cause: 1) Toner may not adhere/melt onto media at all or 2) Toner may melt too easily and cause the toner &/or paper to stick to the fuser rollers and potentially damage them The toner may not have the correct properties to adhere to the drum &/or transfer to the media correctly due to wrong electromagnetic or electrostatic properties. The toner particles may not be the correct size and cause leaking toner or clogging at the metering blade which will result in poor or no print. As for what will actually happen with the Samsung toner in a Brother printer is really impossible to say. There would have to be a lot of research done to find out the print technologies used by both to determine how closely they are compatible. If you don't care what happens to the Brother printer you can always try it and see what happens, but I'd rather just get the right toner for the printer you have and not worry about it. Best of luck.
