- The processor is ok (nothing great, nothing terrible either), but that video card is awful for gaming.
- If you need it right now, then yes, it is a very good PC. If you don't mind waiting a few months, Windows 7 will be shipping soon and is a VAST improvement over Vista. Even better, you could try to get a PC with XP installed. There are many places you can get a PC much cheaper. Try some of the permanent sellers on eBay. You could save a couple of hundred and get better components.
- Try the same setup on newegg.com and see what the total is.
- That really aint too bad. You could use a bigger hard drive and 64-bit vista can use more ram then 32-bit, but will still run well on 4 gb. The Graphics card is GOOD not GREAT, a 1gb will take care of all your needs for years, but it will do what you want. The Processor will work fine, but a xeon or i7 would be better. For the price I'd say go for it. You can always install your own upgrades later. Oh and as for waiting for Windows 7, its up to you, no one really can judge it yet. But do NOT downgrade to XP. In 64-bit Vista runs circles around XP.
- Yes, pretty high priced for what your getting. You probably want ot go with a quad core and a motherboard that can run up to 16 gig of ram. Starting with 4 gig is OK, but soem time down the road it's nice to have the option to upgrade. Try 3btech.net for a custom built gamer. I'm sure you can get something much better for the same price, and they ship fast. Otherwise try out tigerdirect.com, look for barebones or complete units, or search for specific units to compare prices on pricewatch.com
- Your selection of Windows Vista 64 bit is not a good one as 64 bit is not a proven good OS. and has many issues. Wait for Windows 7, out by Christmas. Make your HD a 500 Gig and get the best Video card that you can buy, As on board ram on the Video card make it a faster identy. Remember that wireless keyboard and mouse are susceptible to interference from your neighbours.
- gorgeous the configuration is really superd but go for nvidia 9600 gt graphics option and more over it seems you are gamer try to buy a game pad or wheel
