Can I use an HP power supply on a Dell?

Everything fits perfectly, but I'm unsure if I should turn on the system yet

  1. Call Dell. The power supply should have a rating printed on it, as long as the MAmp is OK with Dell.
  2. An HP power supply? To my understanding HP doesn't make power supplies. But as long as your power supply can supply all the parts in your Dell with enough power then there shouldn't be any problems.
  3. you can use any manufacturer on any manufacturer when it comes with PSUs and systems...just as long as the specs match up. (ex: ATX, Sata, PCIe) if your motherboard is PCIe, then your PSU also has to support PCI-express. so watch out for that. other than that, I can tell you that I bought an Ultra PSU and replaced it with the Dell stock PSU (305W) and it ran fine.
