Where Is The System Recovery File Located On my HP Desktop Computer?
I have a really slow Windows XP computer and i tried looking for the system recovery file in my START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS but i can't find it. Also I tried searching for it on the search on Windows XP but i still can't find it. Is there anyway to find it? plzzzzz help. THANKS! :)

- usually the recovery partitions are HIDDEN meaning you cant see them in regular browse. you probably have to go into the BIOS and configure it. when you first turn on the computer look at all the messages that come up edit: make sure you backup all your files before recovery "hit F10 to enter setup" or i know on IBM laptops you see "hit F11 to go to system recovery" but these messages only appear for a few seconds so watch for them.
- you have to make a restoring point to see it. if you want to reformat your pc. try pressing F8 or F12 or 'F' something. then it will show some options how you can reformat your computer. but doing this will delete all your files in your computer. or if not try to insert your OS cd recovery disk to reformat.
- On my HP desktop it's on a separate partition (Drive D:).
- go to control panel.then click on back up and restore.then go to repair windows using symstem restore in the top left corner.hope it heeeelps
