If I restore my laptop (hp pavilion dv6000) to factory settings will it erase viruses?

My keyboard is not working, weird stuff is happening after letting other people borrow my pc. I just want to start over, because nothing I do fixes any of the problems. I don't have any important documents. I just want to keep Windows Vista.

2. yup. if you format the hard drive, everything that you have in the computer will be deleted.. cheerio!
3. Yes, the recovery partition will re image your drive to the way it was when you first recieved it. If you have the same model dv6000 as me, then restart and press f8 to select the repair your computer option, go with the complete restore option
4. Have you tried system restore back to the date of when it was working good, usually if that doesn't work you will need to wipe it with Norton or a simular software and reinstall vista, try system restore first.
