I just bought a used HP laserjet color printer 8550n. I am trying to connect my laptop to the printer and have the ethernet cable, but am having major issues getting my documents to print. I have gone to hp.com and downloaded drivers etc... but nothing seems to work. I have tried adding a printer on my wizard, again nothing. I am getting really confused, I do not have a disk to load. Just trying to set up this printer to work from my laptop. Does anyone have any advise for me to get this printer working? I probably need to start from scratch, just need to be guided all the way now! I have windows xp loaded on my laptop. Is it easier to load vista and let it configure itself? I have a linksys router already for my wireless internet.
