Trouble installing old software on new computer.?
About five years ago we bought an HP printer and installed their software HP ImageZone. Now we have bought a new computer and I'm trying to re-install this software and it isn't working. It's saying it can't install on the "run as" command, and also that I need to log back on as the system administrator-but I *am* logged on as the system administrator. I know they have free downloads for different software, but I want this one because I'm familiar with it. Can anyone help? Thanks.

- Download the most recent drivers for your printer, and use the printer normally on your current computer. The canned software that comes with most printers is almost certainly crappy anyways.
- I assume you have Vista now... Right hand click on the EXE file 1st, go to Properties, Compatibility and select "Run as Administrator" as well as "Run in XP mode". Doing thsi shoudl allow the software to install and be used. If this does not work, HP are useless in providing new drivers for older products, so it may be time to buy a new one if all fails or roll back your PC to XP instead of Vista. Hope this helps
- go to HP's site and search for the printer you have. you'll see there the updated drivers and softwares you need. i also had the same problem with my 3-in-1 hp.i used to have it on XP but i switched to vista and i had trouble installing it so i just refered to their manuals on the site.
