Advise needed to buy Laptop with 8GB RAM (minimum) and Intel Core 2 Duo (minumim), budget is 2000 US$?

I need laptop to run as much virtual machines as I can , so too me the most important thing is RAM and processor speed , plus good battery life around 4 hours (minimum).I don't care much about Graphics , thumb impression support, build in web cam etc. I will be running following Software ---------------------------------------------------------- 1. Windows Server 2008 x64 bit 2. Multiple Virtual Machines (each will take around 1.5 GB of RAM) 3. Windows 2008 Hyper V (not sure Core 2 DUO support its as Hyper V required hardware accelerated virtualization support) Also want to know following --------------------------------------- 1.Is there any way i can buy a laptop (Dell , HP etc) with bare minimum (like no OS , 512 RAM etc) and then adjust RAM on my own, plus OS I will install on my own (so dont need pre installed OS). 2. Did any one of you recommend DELL M6400 (price is just too much for me at the moment , but want to know any ways) BTW I am located in Singapore. For The First Answerer --------------------------------- 8GB is not that uncommon Vendors like (IBM,DELL,HP) have models with 8GB (just google it out), but where my question comes from , is the cost. Moreover 8 GB RAM is is not that much , when you have to work on 4 to 5 VMs (with Windows Server 2008 , etc) at the same time, which is the case for me. Desktop is not an option at all as it limits the mobility. Thanks any ways for answering.

  1. Thats a lot of hardware your asking for your $. As of yet I haven't seen a laptop with that much RAM. You must ask yourself though, do you really need all that? I run 3 VMs fine with my Acer 8930G, with Vista x64. With the laptop below, which is what I use, its fairly good priced, a great sized screen, good battary life, and you can add a 2nd hard drive, add SSD PCIX Drive, and they even sell a quad core model of the 8930. As for the 8GB I haven't seen modules that big enough to provide 8GB available without spending a fortune. If you want something with that much power, you might as well get a desktop. Also as for the OS, most if not all Laptops come with OS's preinstalled, usually you can't get it otherwise, but they can be easily uninstalled.
