How do u download a CD game or play a CD game on a computer.Laptop hp?

The game is called Nancy Drew.Every time I put it in my computer nothing happens I have a hp laptop the pavilion entertainment pc .I don't know if its got to do with the laptop maybe it doesn't allow games or something.HELP!??:)

1. Most games are auto-run and they start the downloading process once they're put in the CD-ROM. maybe this feature is disabled in your laptop (for security reasons because your computer may get viruses by the auto-run). But you can start the game installation manually just open My Computer and open the CD driver and look for a file called (setup), open it and follow the instruction in the installation wizard. (which is very easy so don't be scared). Hope this helps
2. If you made the CD, you might of made it to were you have to open it your self. To do this go to Start. My computer. A page will pop up showing you your drives, and you DVD drive. If it shows a cd in the drive, or shows the name of your game, then double click on it. Another page will open up showing you the contants of the cd. Fine setup, and click on it. Are you sure its not a DVD? You may have a DVD, but only a CD player on your computer. If thats the case, you wont be able to use the game. Your player may be dead also.
