What is the shelf life of HP ink straight from the Manufacturer?

I see an expiration date on the HP ink I buy from the store, and I was just wondering how long the shelf life is when it come straight from the manufacture? Thanks a bunch.

1. Well, if the expiration is still good, don't worry about it. Even if it is on the shelf for two years as long as it isn't expired. Under normal circumstances, a shell life of 2 years is the norm.
2. All dye based inks, like the HP ink, use a 2 year normal room temperature self life as an expiration suggested date. A premixed pigment based ink will have a much shorter shelf life usually (unless it uses some formulation specifically targetting shelf life).
