  1. From your description of the colours printed, it sounds like the problem lies with the magenta ink not coming through properly. Look to see if there's an option for you to do a Nozzle Check or Head Cleaning. (On my Epson printer I can check this by clicking on Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > Printing Preferences, and then selecting the Maintenance tab.)
  2. Click on START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, right mouse click on the name of your printer, and then perform a print nozzle cleaning, and print a test page. Since it's an HP you may need to manually clean the cartridges by doing the following. Remove the cartridges from the printer, moisten a Q tip with distilled or bottled water (don't use tap water), ring out the access water with your fingers, Wipe over the ink nozzle (where the little hole is on the ink cartridge where the ink comes out) with the Q-tip using a sweeping motion like you were sweeping a floor extremely gently, continue doing this with new Q-tips until there is no more color coming off on the Q-tip, return the cartridges to the printer, use the align print cartridge function in your printers settings to align the cartridges, and try printing again, if you are still having trouble, replace all of your cartridges at the same time. Sometimes if you leave a print cartridge in a computer too long without using it, it will cause the cartridge to clog and cause all sorts of problems. If you are still having trouble, you can go into the color management settings in your printer settings and make some adjustments to compensate for the horrible color.
