if you aren't printing photos, do you think color printers are absolutely necessary?

i'm debating whether to get black laser or color inkjet. Thanks for your opinions.

I was considering the same thing myself since I don't do many pictures, but look at the price of toner cartridges for a laser before you get one, they are expensive. I got a regular color printer myself, just to be on the safe side, never know when you wish you had color.
color inkjets, because the quality isnt bad at all. and the laser printers are very expensive. besides black and white is no fun any day !!
I have both why I done this is that the mono laser will print loads more but it is handy to have the option of colour when I need it. Its all about cost an the in of the day if you are printing a lot of text then laser is for you. Inkjet will cost a bomb if you use it for black text only.
with the difference in price between a cartridge of ink vs. a cartridge of toner ink jet is the better choice...
Nothings absolute, but when printing any page with some colour writing or small pics on them, and if you print the odd pic or photo still need colour to use the greyscale or you end up with sumit like a negative,check prices as well as ink prices, i think youl find if you dont get colour youll be disapointed at sum stage, you can get crakers of printers with cheap ink,i have an epson stylus c42 plus, and can get 3 colour and 3 black cartridges 4 less than £10.00, I was same as you till I got this printer, now my wall is covered with pics ive printed or prints of photos and the quality is brilliant, GO FOR COLOUR, my inkjet epson was only £30.00 and you print qualitys worth every penny
