When can I get my money back? Money is held.?
I just placed an order on HP computer and my money is taken. Later they reclined my order and sent me an email say that, Although HP Home & Home Office Store will not charge you for this order, your financial institution may have placed a hold on your account for the amount of this purchase. These types of holds are typically released within a few days. This is standard practice and beyond the control of HP Home & Home Office Store. For more information, contact your financial institution at the customer service number on your account. When Can I get my money back?

- It is not taken away from you. It is just held or reserved so that you cannot spend it and I will tell you why. You did not mention if this is a checking account or a credit card. What has occurred is that HP called for authorization for the charge or payment. when they approve it, they either put a hold for that amount until the charge comes in or a certain expiration date. That date is seldom more than a few days. The reason for the hold is that the bank / credit card company has promised to pay the amount when it comes in so it is there to keep you from buying something else and overdrawing your account. This is actually a standard practice and you have done it if you have ever gone to a hotel, car rental, a restaurant where tipping is customary, auto repair (sometimes), etc. Now what you should be able to do is to call HP and ask them to release the funds immediately, fake an answer that you want to buy the item somewhere else immediately.
- Your money will be back in your account in about 2 to 3 days. Call your bank and ask them exactly when the money will be put back into your account.
