HP Store Online

RAM for my HP Compaq nx6120?

I'm thinking to adding more RAM to my HP Compaq nx6120 by buying from an online store. But the compatibility of the new RAM to my laptop worries me. My question is if that the chip descriptions of the RAM are the same (DDR1 SO-DIMM PC2700, 200pin, 333mhz) ,will it be compatible to my computer (even if the makers are different???)

1. Yes, as long as the specs are the same, then the RAM chips are compatible. Depending on who you buy it from, you can easily return it if there's a problem. I recommend Newegg.com since they have a very liberal return policy. http://www.newegg.com
2. yea the brand doesnt matter as long as its the same ddr. also make sure they are the same. dont put in a 1gb and a 512mb they work better in pairs. 2 512s will out perform a 1gb and a 512mb
3. yeah if all that is the same it will work, the manufacturer doesn't make a difference
