Good Canon Digital Cameras!?
My money situation is $700 or less. I am really interested in Canon cameras. I need a good digital Canon for my college portfolio and for fun. Please give me ideas, websites, stores :) Thanks so much.

- If you are working toward portfolio worthy shots, something you can grow and expand with and want to stay within the Canon family, I'd go with the Canon Rebel XTI outfit lens and body. It is listed on canon's website for 699.99 so with tax it may be slightly over your budget. HOWEVER, amazon sells it for 584 for the exact same outfit. This is a great camera with a great shutter speed of 1/4000 of sec, 10+ pixels so you can blow up an image to almost anything you will need or want. (several feet). This is certainly a camera that would work for your needs and anything you'll want in the future. I am not sure if you are absolutely set on Canon but one tip I have is to look at Nikon as well. I am a professional photographer and I work with Nikon but I've found it is mostly a preference thing. One way to see what you prefer (styling, feel of the body, the noise of the camera... how it shoots, etc) is to go to a Ritz or Wolf Camera where you can play with the cameras without being restrained by a chord. (if you do go in, make sure to tell the sales people you are just looking, they will try to steer you toward models that have higher commissions so just ask to see the cameras YOU want to see) Hope that helps.
