acer laptop or hp laptop?
my choices are the acer aspire 6930 with the intel centrino. it has 4gb of ram and 320gb hard drive. my problem is that i want a laptop that will last me through high school and college and i hear that acer laptops break easily and acer is not realiable. my other choice is the hp dv7-1243. what im concerned about is that it has amd turion x2 dual-core mobile processor and i hear that amd is not as good at all as the new intel dual-core 2s.....also, i hear that intel is much better. i will also be using the laptop for school and office work and i hear that amd is not good for that. anyways, it has 4gb ram and 320gb hard drive.....its also on sale lol.. so what do you think? do you think that the hp with the amd processor will still perform as well as intel?

- I like HP
- take HP over any acer. Or preferably a dell. but if you must then HP
- HP!
- who cares?
- my brother had an hp that crashed after about two years. i had an acer that crashed after two weeks. -absolutely no joke. seriously happened. i now have gateway- love it to death and have an amd processor. i've heard nothing but great things about amd and haven't had any issues. i run it pretty seriously.
- Cmparing HP ith Acer like comparing Mercides with Kia no way Hp is the top
- You are right, Acer is overall not as reputable or as reliable as a HP computer. Also, HP is good for general use and could last you awhile, so go with the HP.
- computer doesnt last that much time. the best thing you can do is save some money and buy a new in the coming years
- AMD is 64-bit 99% of the time if not 100% of the time. It will require a 64-bit Operating System to work to full potential. Many applications you have on your generic 32-bit Operating System will most likely have complications running on an AMD processor. Intel is your best bet IMO... I repair computers as my vocation, we get fewer computers with Intel processors. AMD's are also to blame for most of the problems with laptops that get sent in. Based on all that, Intel.
