Mono laser printer that works on Intel-based iMac with OS X 10.4?

I'm looking for a budget (ok, cheap) mono laser printer which will work with an Intel-based iMac running OS X 10.4. There are plenty which say OS-X compatible (e.g. Oki) but when you actually get one and try to use it there's no driver available for the above product combination. Does anyone out there actually have a budget laser printer connecting and working on an Intel Mac? I can Google for manufacturers that claim to do so, but I've already tried two printers and would rather get a recommendation from a real user before carting another one home and swearing a lot... Thanks Tony

  1. Best monochrome laser for you money is a Samsung ML-2010. I have one running off OS X 10.3. It is a brand new printer and is compatible with 10.4. I payed $129.99 CDN for mine. So it is definitely a budget laser printer. The replacement cartridges are still under $100 for an approx 3,500 page yield.
  2. try to se canon printer they have a excellent printer, we using it in our mac-apple computers in the office and it works fine but usually all printers have drivers for mac or apple
  3. i guess most brands r supported , in case of doubt i am posting website 4 u plz check and select http://macosx.com/content/faq.php/c11/Mac-OS-X-Peripherals-Printers.html
