Is this Compaq Presario laptop good for its price?

I found this laptop in singapore which is said to be worth s$2000. Its on sale for 1499. Could anyone tell me if this is a good deal? I dont have much experience with laptops. I need it for school, and for a bit of gaming. Especially if its 64 bit vista
