HP laptop computer problem!!?

This is driving me crazy. My HP froze on me today so I shut it off the way you're not supposed to and when I went to boot it up several hours later, it gets past the hp screen but when it comes to the loading screen, it just stays there. My hard drive light is lit and it doesn't blink. It doesn't do anything. I've tried my system restore discs, same thing. I've tried safe mode just now and it's not doing anything. It's stuck on please wait...loading windows files. I also tried last known good configuration. When I tried to load my computer earlier before the loading screen, I got a windows error that said something to the effect of a hardware or software file could have been damaged or corrupt. Windows Repair didn't do crap either. Everything I've tried leads me right to the loading screen. Please help!!! I've only had this laptop for 3 months! I have Windows 64-bit Vista.

2. I would try a total reinstallation of Windows. If that does not work - your hard drive may be toast.
