I got a new computer and now I'm trying to hook up my old printer to it, but I'm having difficulty?
I don't have the disk anymore that came with the printer, so I don't know how to make my new computer recognize the printer. Its a HP Photosmart 2600 printer. My computer is also an HP. Whenever I try to print something, it just prints a bunch of codes. Is there anywhere online that I can download the software for free? If so, where? Or does anyone have another solution? Whoops It's an 2610

- enjoy, just select your system and download the driver http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=421139&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=11&submit.x=7&lang=en&cc=us
- Most printer manufacturer's - including HP - have the latest software available for downloading on the website. Just select your printer's model number and your version of Windows
- You should NEVER connect a printer until you have first loaded the drivers. Disconnect it and uninstall any software for it. Restart the machine. Go to the HP site and download the correct drivers for your system. Run the installer and it will ask you to connect at the right time.
- If your new computer is using Vista there could be a compatibility issue. Good luck!
