Document Scanner Recommendation Please?
At my office we are in need of a heavy duty document scanner that can be auto-fed 50-100 pages at a time (in color). The faster the better. We are looking at a price range of $5K or less. Let me know if you have any recommendations. -We are NOT looking for an all-in-one copy/scanner/printer...we have xerox machine doubling as a printer that works just fine. (I've already checked about adding a scanner to our machine and with our model it will cost upwards of $6k). Thanks for the suggestions!

- What you are asking for may not be available for $5k unless you are talking about a lease. Our church leases a RISO HC-5500 high speed color printer. We will add the scanner option later. It has very large capacity ink cartridges (about 1 pint for each of 4 colors). It's about the size of a medium chest freezer. It can be networked, also. We got it because we only pay for the ink and paper (above the monthly lease). I'm sure there are other brands and models that may work better for you. Watch out for hidden costs; make a thorough evaluation of any offers. Our other lease charged us about 12c per page for color copies. The entire document was treated as a color document even though one page had color and the rest were B/W. So those B/W pages were charged at the same page rate as color. If the entire document was B/W, then is was 3c per page.
